Skills You Might Learn

Along with skills in alignment with your VETiS Construction course, the student will also have the opportunity to develop valuable transferable skills including communication, problem-solving, teamwork, time management, using new state of the art technology, learn to work independently and learn the trade.

Typical Tasks & Duties

Using machinery, the student will be working in the factory assisting tradespeople with the production of the finest quality cabinets and fit outs. You will have the opportunity to use screw guns, drills, staple guns and most other tools of the trade, except for saws. You may be asked on occasion to clean the factory floor.

Student Requirements

Students must have an interest in cabinetry or carpentry. This is best suited to a highly motivated and organised VM or VET students currently undertaking related Construction VETiS. The students must be able to communicate orally, willing and committed to this type of work, which is largely physical, manual work. Must be able to take direction and be on time.

Dress Requirements

Steel capped boots must be worn and supplied by the students. Other attire including PPE to be discussed at initial visit / interview.
