This a traditional motor repair workshop with a small staff. They have been in business doing general mechanical repairs and servicing for many years. The business has also supported the SWL program for many years. Students get to participate in a wide range of learning opportunities. This is an ideal placement for those keen on cars.

Skills You Might Learn

Students will use safe work practices and observe OH&S procedures as a matter of course. Use of hand tools under supervision will be a focus. Students will learn how to perform basic mechanical tasks under supervision.

Typical Tasks & Duties

Duties at Kerang Mechanical Repairs will include workshop maintenance and assisting with general vehicle servicing and rebuild tasks. Students will be supervised to enable them to use hand tools while assisting with general mechanical tasks.

Student Requirements

The students must have completed the OH&S module in WRS VCAL or else have begun the OH&S module in the relevant VET course.

Dress Requirements

Students are to wear neat casual dress appropriate for the workplace plus sturdy footwear.

Special Transport Requirements

Students will need to organise their own transport to work as there is no public transport.
