This Placement is with a very experienced local builder.Bryan is supportive of students doing SWL and will offer a valuable opportunity for students to gain skills and experience on a range of building projects. If students are keen to try some time in the building industry this placement is for them.

Skills You Might Learn

Students will, while under supervision, be learning the use of hand tools related to basic carpentry. They will learn to be part of the team while observing and using OH&S procedures followed on the work site.

Typical Tasks & Duties

This position will include activities around assisting the builders in their work and may specifically include cleaning up the site, using carpentry hand tools and performing basic carpentry tasks. There may also be situations where there will be travel to different worksites.

Student Requirements

The student must have completed the OH&S module in WRS VCAL or else have begun the OH&S module in the relevant VET course.

Dress Requirements

Students will be required to wear neat casual dress appropriate for the workplace plus sturdy footwear.

Special Transport Requirements

Students may need to make their own way to the workplace
