Cobram Farm Equipment has a proud history of supplying and servicing high quality agricultural equipment for over six decades. Located in Cobram, they sell & service of general farming /engineering needs. Brothers Adrian and John Shannon commenced their apprenticeships in the 70’s as mechanics with Cobram Farm Equipment. Together Adrian and John have 70 years experience in the agricultural industry. The work placement is assisting the qualified technicians with technical and mechanical repairs on agricultural equipment.

Typical Tasks & Duties

Typical tasks and duties will include but are not limited to observe and assist qualified technicians in technical and mechanical repairs on agricultural equipment (heavy diesel) in the workshop. You would assist with service work, dismantling of agricultural machinery, cleaning components, assist with re-assembly.

The student will also have the opportunity to learn workplace communication, safe work practices and how to cooperative effectively in a workplace team.
- Identify and adhere to OHS procedures relevant to the industry and organisation
- Workshop duties
- Assist with basic mechanical repairs as directed by mechanic
- use of basic tools relevant to trade
- Clean up of workshop when required

Student Requirements

Students should have a passion for the agricultural industry, working on machinery and be committed to the task, be punctual and be keen to learn.

It is also important to have a good attitude, good communication skills and respect everyone.

Dress Requirements

Prefer workboots (prefer steel capped). Wear appropriate work attire (shorts or pants). The workplace will supply overalls.
