If you have an interest in both the Community Service field, and teaching this placement might be the one for you! The great thing about small community houses is you are able to witness a wide range of jobs, as all staff are multi skilled to deal with a range of situations. This particular placement will be working one day a week alongside adults with disabilities.

Skills You Might Learn

Students may also attain vital industry specific skills which will relate to their studies such as:

- Working with tools and equipment necessary to the occupation and business
- Liaising and working with colleagues, bosses, customers/clients and suppliers.

Typical Tasks & Duties

Typical tasks and duties may include but not limited to;
- Working alongside adults with disabilities
-Helping adults complete different tasks
-Doing/assisting craft activities with the adults
-Assisting other volunteers and teachers
-Assisting various levels of abilities with the adults

Student Requirements

This opportunity is suited to someone with an interest in the community service area as well as working with people with disabilities. They should be comfortable around people, be eager to help in a wide range of areas within the community house.

Dress Requirements

Neat casual, no singlet's, no ripped denim.
