Placements are available throughout school year and are 5 days long with potential to extend if both parties agree.

Students completing a placement here have the potential to gain the following skills: creating flower arrangements, maintaining indoor plants, communicating with customers, and working within a small team.

Typical Tasks & Duties

Students completing a placement here can expect to: prepare and care for floristry stock, answering telephone and email inquiries, Receive and store floristry stock, Customer Service, Cleaning, General retail duties, arranging flowers in vases and cleaning the returned ones from the events, wrapping posies, assisting the florist on the work bench, making centrepieces, admin tasks.

Student Requirements

Students should have an interest in Floristry. They should also be enthusiastic and willing to learn, punctual, neat presentation, and have a polite manner

Dress Requirements

Students should wear Appropriate clothing which can be discussed during the meet and greet.

Attendance: Dates and times are to be negotiated when arranging placement. Standard working day is 10am to 3 pm.(negotiated). For 1 day per week Placements - placements should only be for a maximum of ten weeks. A student can seek another ten weeks (20 weeks maximum, as per guidelines) should both the student and employer agree after the commencement of the first placement.
