The Central Grampians LLEN is one of 31 LLENs funded by the Victorian State Department of Education. CGLLEN are an incorporated association, led by a volunteer Board of Management drawn from a wide range of sectors. Together with community partners, the Central Grampians LLEN assists in the delivery of workplace learning, training, mentorship, hands on activities, youth friendly events and other important skill development initiatives. A key priority is building partnerships to support young people who are at risk of ceasing their education or have left school early. Programs offered to young people include L2P driving program, MATES mentoring program, ENGAGE! funding for hosting career pathway events and workplace learning programs for practical experience in a workplace. Typical Tasks & Duties

Students will assist trained staff in performing duties, students receiving high level supervision. Typical tasks will be very varied due to the variety of activities on offer in a youth services organisation.
Duties will include but not limited to;
- Setting up of equipment including, activities and props required for events, being involved in general administration supports, greeting clients and visitors through the building.
- Completing Workplace Health and Safety modules and CGLLEN student induction processes.
- Assisting trained staff with related business administration as instructed.
- Engaging with clients and visitors as advised by Central Grampians LLEN trained staff.
- Completing all tasks as assigned by Central Grampians LLEN trained staff relating to student expectations and course assessments.
- Completing daily entries into the Workplace Learning Record and/or course assessment record.

Student Requirements

Students are encouraged to consider a WE placement to develop skills learned from their school subject. The following requirements must be met;
- Students are required to have completed the Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) modules- general module and any applicable industry OH&S modules.
- Students must maintain a diary or logbook and/or complete work experience assignments and other tasks that have been set by the school.
- Students must adhere to strict Privacy and Confidentiality policy and procedures.
- Students must have a willingness to learn and be able to follow instructions carefully and competently.
- Students must be willing to communicate clearly and work as a productive team member.
- Personal mobile phones are not required and should only be used out of work hours or on meal breaks.

Dress Requirements

To be discussed with employer prior to commencement. Students are required to wear neat casual clothing or school uniform. Appropriate Personal Protective Equipment will be supplied for work tasks that require it.

Special Transport Requirements

The student or the parent/guardian (where the student is under 18 years of age) is responsible for the student’s transport to and from the workplace. If it is proposed that the student may need to undertake vehicle travel with their employer and/or supervisor during the arrangement (including transporting the student to and/or from the workplace), the employer must complete the Work Experience Travel and Accommodation Form. The student or the parent/guardian (where the student is under 18 years of age) must give their consent by also completing this form. The student will be required to arrange their own transport; if transport is presenting a problem please contact CGLLEN to discuss available options and support that can be provided.
