Aqua Energy complex contains a 25m indoor heated pool, a learn to swim/program pool, hydrotherapy pool and sauna. There is also an outdoor 50m lap pool, along with an outdoor toddler/learn to swim pool, which both operate seasonally during the summer months. The dry services include a modern gym, offering tailored programming for all clientele. As well as two fitness studios offering over 75 classes per week, via both face to face and onsite virtual offerings. Skills You Might Learn

You will gain experience in the Health and Fitness industry in general, improve your time management, work on communication particularly addressing client requests and aiding in using the centre and answering telephone inquiries. You will learn how to operate in a self-directed manner in completing your work tasks and providing feedback.

Typical Tasks & Duties

On placement you will assist in the operation and delivery of services provided by Leisure Services. You will support a fast paced and high performing team assisting gym users with inquiries, setting up and monitoring fitness equipment, ensuring that equipment is safe, clean and in working condition and assisting with recording keeping. You will also have the opportunity to learn about key functions which contribute to the operations of the facility, including pool plant operational procedures.

Student Requirements

Students must be punctual, have a willingness to learn and take initiative to shape this into a valuable work experience for them. You must have an interest in or be studying the sport and recreation industry at school in order for you to receive exposure to relevant work. You must be physically capable to potentially perform some physical activity.

Dress Requirements

Students are to wear neat plain active wear with closed toe sports shoes.

Special Transport Requirements

You are required to provide your own transport to and from Aqua Energy.
