This is a lively panel shop using modern technology. The workers are a supportive team who appear to enjoy their work days. Management is very supportive of the SWL program. This is a perfect opportunity for a student who is highly motivated as they will have the chance to learn a lot.

Skills You Might Learn

Students will learn correct techniques for using various hand tools. There will be careful attention paid to the use of equipment in a safe fashion.

Typical Tasks & Duties

Students will be involved in preparing vehicles for repair, using specialised body repair tools and equipment under supervision and general tidying of the workshop environment. Assisting staff in their roles will be an important part of the placement.

Student Requirements

Students must have successfully completed the OH and S module in WRS VCAL or have begun the OH and S module in the relevant VET course.

Dress Requirements

The student will be required to wear safety gear, including dust mask and overalls at all times. Sturdy foot ware is essential.

Special Transport Requirements

Students will need to arrange their own transport to and from the workplace
