Skills You Might Learn

This placement will offer students the chance to attain a broad range of skills related to retail and warehouse operations. They will have hands-on practical experience, while working in a real life scenario. Specific examples are working as part of a team, using sales technology, communicating with customers and assisting with marketing layouts.

Typical Tasks & Duties

Students will assist staff carrying out their duties. This revolves around customer service in the various sections of the store. Students will learn about stock replenishment and displays as well as assisting customers while supervised.

Student Requirements

The students must have completed the OH&S module in WRS VCAL or else have begun the OH&S module in the relevant VET course.

Dress Requirements

Students are to wear neat casual dress appropriate for the work place.

Special Transport Requirements

Students may need to organise their own transport to work but there is a town bus service.
