Successful Auto Repair workshop that has been offering quality mechanical servicing for over 20 years to local motorist in Tullamarine, is providing 1 Structured Workplace Learning opportunity to a Year 11- 12 student that would like to pursue an automotive career. You will be supervised and guided by qualified and experienced mechanics.

Skills You Might Learn

You will learn to apply safe working practices in automotive workshop and to how to service motor vehicles. You’ll be able to carry out a variety of vehicle repairs and servicing tasks with confidence. This solid grounding in automotive maintenance and repair will provide the student with a head start in gaining an automotive apprenticeship.

Typical Tasks & Duties

Cleaning and packing tools. Assisting the qualified mechanic to service vehicles. Working beside the mechanic and providing assistance as required. Applying safe working practices, using and maintaining measuring equipment, operating electrical testing equipment, and assisting in vehicle engine reconditioning and maintenance. Maintaining clean working environment.

Student Requirements

Need to be self motivated and have an interest in pursuing career in automotive industry. Must be punctual and reliable. Ability to listen and follow management instructions and safe work practices.

Dress Requirements

Steel capped boots and overalls.

Special Transport Requirements

Bus service available.
