This is a perfect opportunity for a student who is motivated and keen to find out about this industry. It will certainly be hands on.

Skills You Might Learn

Students will learn correct techniques for using various hand tools and equipment. There will be careful attention paid to the use of equipment in a safe fashion.

Typical Tasks & Duties

Students will be involved in preparing vehicles for repair, using specialised body repair tools and equipment and general tidying of the workshop environment. Assisting with dismantling damaged vehicles will be part of the students working day.

Student Requirements

For this placement students must have successfully completed the OH and S module in WRS VCAL or have begun the OH and S module in the relevant VET course.

Dress Requirements

The students are required to wear neat casual clothes suitable for the workplace plus sturdy footwear.

Special Transport Requirements

Students will need to arrange their own transport to and from the workplace.
