The Mildura Weekly is locally owned and operated, employing 20 permanent staff and a network of another 30 people who assist in delivering the paper each Friday. All activities associated with producing and publishing the paper, including advertisement design, news gathering and photography are conducted in-house at our premise at 424 San Mateo Avenue, Mildura.

Skills You Might Learn

You will develop your 'interpersonal' skills, time management skills, money handling/card transactions and businesses / administrative skills. You will work on your ability to problem solve and to be able to think on your feet while developing your teamwork, communication, multi-tasking to increase your employability skills.

Typical Tasks & Duties

A variety of administrational tasks and duties will be undertaken relevant to the Newspaper and Digital Media Industry, Including:
general administration tasks, answering phones, face to face customer service, taking messages, record keeping, filing, using computer programs related to the Newspaper industry including Microsoft Office programs, IT related activities, processing cash /card payments, accounts and recieval’s.

Student Requirements

You need to have a friendly, engaging personality and be helpful and polite. You need to be reliable and motivated, punctual, show initiative and have a can-do attitude with knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs.

Dress Requirements

Suitable office workwear attire. Black pants / Skirt and business shirt.
Enclosed shoes.

Special Transport Requirements

Public Transport is limited, students to check bus transport availability and or speak to parents/carer to organise transport prior to contacting employer.
