This opportunity will suit hands on passionate student wanting to learn how to build homes. You will be working alongside DM & KM Hay Bricklaying team.
This opportunity will be for the right candidate enthusiastic about building homes.

Skills You Might Learn

The skills you will attain during this placement:
• OH&S Specific skills
• Calculations for the building trade
• Working with a team
• Communication in the workplace/on site

Typical Tasks & Duties

Typical tasks will be:
• Measuring the work area and setting out the first rows of bricks (courses) and the damp course
• Mixing mortar by hand or with a mechanical mixer
• Laying the bricks on top of each other and applying the mortar with a trowel
• Laying the bricks on top of each other and applying the mortar with a trowel
• Shaping and trimming bricks using hammers, chisels and power tools

Student Requirements

Students are required to be hardworking and honest.

Dress Requirements

Work pants or shorts, safety boots. Ear muffs and safety glasses will be provided.
