The Moama and District Preschool is a progressive Pre-school that offers a safe, secure and happy learning environment.The dedicated staff offer flexible and stimulating program that reflects the needs of individual children, as well as the overall needs of each group. The Curriculum incorporates all areas of development and is related directly to the Early Years Framework and the National Quality Standards. The children develop through active participation in activities/experiences planned and unplanned. These will always concentrate on the process of learning through play rather than the end product. We view all children as capable learners and the curriculum will reflect the individuals and groups needs, these will be evaluated by educators on a daily basis.

Skills You Might Learn

Students will gain hands-on practical experience while assisting staff with the children. The students will be working in real-life scenarios in a real life environment. The strengthening of communication skills is a large part of this placement as well as gaining confidence while helping manage and care for the children.

Typical Tasks & Duties

Students will work with Young Adventurers staff to assist them in their duties in relation to the various programs and activities. Students will be required to be an active participant in all workplace practises while being supervised by staff. Helping with games, music, dance and art are just some of the things students will be involved with during their placement.

Student Requirements

The student will need to be alert, observant and active. Able to use judgement and initiative and willing to accept responsibility.

Dress Requirements

Students are to wear neat casual dress appropriate for the work place. Footwear required is enclosed shoes and the workplace is sun smart so no singlet tops and a hat in summer.
