Typical Tasks & Duties

Typical tasks and duties include but not limited to, setting up tables and children’s activities under supervisors guidance, general interacting and playing with children, cleaning and packing down of activities and assisting with preparation of morning tea.

Student Requirements

A volunteers working with children’s check is required, this is a free process that can be completed online.
To consume this placement you should have an interest interacting with children. You can be studying VCAL or VETiS. Students are required to apply using the Save the Children’s volunteer application process. This involves completing the pack and returning it to Roslyn at Save the Children, you will then be rang for an interview, where the remaining of the process will be explained.
From consuming this opportunity please allow 4 weeks for the paperwork process to be complete, plan your placement for a month down the track.

Dress Requirements

Students should wear neat casual clothes that are easy to move around in. Due to the nature of work where bending down to children is required, you should ensure your top is not to low or loose fitting around the neck.
