The student may have the opportunity to attain a broad range of skills while on work placement. These may include valuable employability skills such as:

• Industry specific OH&S and in particular develop a good understanding of safe work practices in an environment with moving plant and machinery in use consistently.

Typical Tasks & Duties

Work within the team. Follow OH & S requirements. Use hand and power tools. Carry out measurements and calculations. List materials required to complete a job. Use plumbing pipes, fittings and fixtures to complete plumbing instillation's. Assist with gluing of pipes. Assist with cutting copper pipe. Clean-up work areas. Assist with digging requirements. Follow instructions.

Student Requirements

Students with a keen eye for detail and are self-motivated, willing to listen and follow instruction are encouraged to consider a placement to develop industry skills in Plumbing.
A Construction Induction Card. (CI Card) is required prior to commencing placement.

Dress Requirements

Steel cap boots. Work wear pants and shirt.

Special Transport Requirements

Public Transport is available, students to check bus transport availability and or speak to parents/carer to organise transport prior to contacting employer.
