Undertaking an SWL placement will see you work alongside experienced mechanic/s to gain a vast range of experience that will complement your study in automotive.
Skills You Might Learn
Students will use and maintain tools and equipment; apply safe work practices; participate in basic vehicle servicing; observe experienced mechanics; comply with OH&S procedures. Students will have the opportunity to observe and assist in servicing of vehicles and mechanical repairs in this workshop.
Typical Tasks & Duties
Undertake duties in the workshop under supervision of an experienced qualified mechanic/s and to experience the technology required to service and troubleshoot auto problems with current and older model vehicles. Students will experience, under supervision, servicing and maintenance on a variety of makes and models of vehicles.
Student Requirements
Students are expected to be punctual and ready to learn. This opportunity is intended for a student with a genuine interest in the auto industry.
Dress Requirements
Student to wear suitable clothing for working on cars and other mechanical equipment.
