A placement is available for a student interested to learn the art of concreting. Tony and Co-concreting service commercial, industrial and residential clients. They are involved in all aspects of concreting. Tony provides professional and reliable work, he is efficient and his work is of the highest standard.
Skills You Might Learn
The student will learn skills in placing, finishing, protecting and repairing concrete in construction projects. As a potential concrete finisher the student may also assist with setting the concrete forms, ensuring they have the correct depth and pitch. They will observe Tony smooth and finish surfaces of poured concrete, such as floors, walks, sidewalks, roads, or curbs using a variety of hand and power tools. Align forms for sidewalks, curbs, or gutters, patch voids; and use saws to cut expansion joints. In a normal day, they will monitor how the wind, or cold affect the curing of the concrete throughout the entire process.
Typical Tasks & Duties
The students will be required to assist with site preparation, placing formwork, steel fixing, concrete placing and finishing.They will also assist in the erection of cladding and fit out of new buildings as well as assisting in general maintenance of equipment. On a daily basis, Tony checks the forms that hold the concrete to see that they are properly constructed. Sets the forms that hold concrete to the desired pitch and depth, and align them.

The student must be willing to learn and develop new skills. Must be honest, enthusiastic, hard working and reliable
Dress Requirements
Steel capped boots and appropriate attire for working in a construction site
Special Transport Requirements
Students will be meeting employer on site or may arrange to meet employer at an agreed location.
