Learn how to use furniture making sector hand and power tools. Construct Furniture using Leg and Rail Method and fabricate Custom Furniture, and how to follow safe work practices and to work in a team. Read and interpret work documents.

Typical Tasks & Duties

Prepping sofas, filling cushions and getting the sofas ready for delivery. Following safe work practices. Assisting qualified tradesmen to fit, install, and secure material on frames, using hand tools, power tools, glue, cement, or staples. Building furniture up with loose fiber stuffing, cotton, felt, or foam padding to form smooth, rounded surfaces. Maintaining clean working environment.

Student Requirements

Must be focused and motivated. Need to be physically strong as some lifting is involved. Positive attitude and courteous.

Dress Requirements

Casual attire and appropriate clothing for working in Manufacturing site.

Special Transport Requirements

Bus services available.
