Skills You Might Learn

Learn and develop the fundamentals of childhood development and caring for children. Gain comprehensive knowledge in social, emotional, physical and educational needs of young children whilst attaining practical industry experience.

Typical Tasks & Duties

Students will have the opportunity to support child care staff with every day tasks such as supervising children in care and general cleaning. Follow instruction and safe working practices - ensuring the health and safety of children. Learn, support and implement play and leisure programs. Manage and guide children's behaviour. Maintain a safe, clean and appealing environment.

Student Requirements

The student needs to have a positive attitude to working with children and have an understanding of children's interests and developmental needs.A tidy and clean appearance is required as well a genuine interest in child care. The centre requests that the student has an enthusiastic manner and good interpersonal skills and able to follow directions quickly and work within the team.

Dress Requirements

Casual neat attire. Closed toe shoes must be worn as well as being Sun Smart
