Bunnings is the leading retailer of home improvement and outdoor living products in Australia and New Zealand and a major supplier to project builders, commercial tradespeople and the housing industry. Operating from a network of large warehouse stores, smaller format stores, trade centres and frame and truss sites, Bunnings caters for consumer and commercial customers.

This placement will be mostly suited to students studying Building and Construction. Students will be offered the opportunity to work in most of the stores departments, giving them skills, knowledge and experience in the Building and Construction Industry.

Skills You Might Learn

Students will attain valuable skills which include Interpersonal skills; product knowledge; product placement; stocktaking; customer service; work and life skills such as time management, communication and personal development skills.

Typical Tasks & Duties

Depending on the area of engagement students will have the opportunity to assist on the shop floor; restock shelves;. work in the nursery which involves plant care, watering, restocking. Students will also have options to work in all departments such as plumbing,timber,hardware and paint. It will introduce students to products and their uses.

Student Requirements

Reliable, polite, friendly and have a keen interest on all areas of the Building and Construction Industry.

Employer requires a courtesy phone call from the student if unable to attend on the day.

Dress Requirements

Closed shoes however no sneakers, work boots would be most suitable. Jeans are acceptable, however no tracksuits. Other clothes will be provided, ie Bunnings shirt.

Public transport is accessible. Bus only. Bus 573 or 562
