Martini & Co is offering a SWL placement to an enthusiastic student to work alongside experienced and friendly staff who understand every aspect of specialty coffee and seasonal food.

Skills You Might Learn

The student would gain:

- an understanding of the hospitality industry
- customer service and team work skills
- understanding of food handling requirements and OH &S requirements for restaurants
- ability to work within a fast paced environment
- ability to work through customer queries and problems.

Typical Tasks & Duties

The student would be required to:

- take orders from customers and answering questions they may have about the menu
- clean tables and ensure the restaurant is clean generally
- be seating guests
- service food and beverages to customers
- follow directions from supervisor.

Student Requirements

The student is expected to:

- be diligent, polite, enthusiastic and well organised
- have a friendly and positive demeanor and an ability to work with different work flows is important
- able to listen and follow instructions
- pay attention to detail
- good communication skills
- ask questions when needed to ensure understanding
- maintain safe practice at all times
- An interest in hospitality and an understanding of what the role of a food and beverage assistant is, would be valuable.

Dress Requirements

- Neat casual pants and shirt
- Enclosed shoes

Martini & Co is located at the Westfield Plenty Valley Shopping Centre. It is easily accessed by public transport with the South Morang Railway station located next to the Shopping Centre - check out the Public Transport App to work out the quickest route for you.
