A great opportunity has been offered in the Community Services: Aged Care Industry as an Aged Care Attendant (Individual Support) and as an Assistant Lifestyle Coach (Allied Health Assistant) at Princes Court Homes, a leading Aged Care provider in the region.
Princes Court Homes has continued to develop its facility and care provision for residents and today we are home to 98 permanent and two respite residents who reside here and who are supported by more than 100 staff.
The WE Opportunity is ideally suited to a Year 10 student or a VCE student.

Typical Tasks & Duties
The student will observe and spend time under the direct supervision of experienced and qualified Princes Court staff assisting with general tasks and duties relating to Individual support and lifestyle and activity programs.
Tasks and duties may include assisting to prepare for daily activities, participating in activities as instructed, safely manual handle and use materials at the work area, clean and maintain the work area as instructed and apply OH&S requirements for the Aged Care Industry.
Student Requirements
Students with a positive attitude towards Aged Care Industry who are self-motivated, willing to listen and follow instruction are encouraged to consider a future WE placement to develop skills learned from their secondary school subjects relating to Individual Support and Allied Health Assistance in Aged Care.
Whilst the student is attending the work placement they are expected to:
• Students must be interested in the “Insert industry-based subject’ and possess good communication skills.
• Students must be willing to spend periods of time observing and to undertake necessary tasks as requested.
• Dress appropriately.
• Maintain interest and participate in tasks and work duties.
• Be well mannered and behave in a respectful and responsible manner.
• Be punctual.
• Follow management instructions.
• Act in accordance with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) requirements.
• Work within the team.
• Listen and take advice from fellow workers.
• Respect other people’s belongings.
• Keep a note pad and pen handy to take notes for their own reference.
• Demonstrate the skills they have developed through their course.
• Take their Logbook to the work placement every day.
Students are to discuss pre placement and onboarding requirements on contact with the Workplacement Coordinator.
Dress Requirements
The student will need to be well presented as Aged Care Industry - Assistants work in full view of customers.
• Flat, non-slip, enclosed work shoes.
• Neat casual dress appropriate for the workplace, (long black pants and shirt).
• Long hair must be tied back, nails must be kept short and clean.
• No inappropriate or offensive slogans
• No Jewellery
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) appropriate to the tasks and duties carried out by the student, will be supplied by the Host Employer.
Special Transport Requirements
Public Transport is limited, students to check bus transport availability and or speak to parents/carer to organise transport prior to contacting employer.
