Karingal Seymour is a community owned aged care hostel based in Seymour. This is an opportunity for students studying Allied Health or Community Services to gain an SWL placement that will see them exposed to a variety of tasks. Karingal Seymour has a history in taking on students for placement and offers a supportive learning environment.

Skills You Might Learn

Students will extend their knowledge of the health industry, gain a greater understanding of the various roles and professions within aged care and learn about Occupational Health and Safety protocols and apply their training in a practical setting.

Typical Tasks & Duties

Placements can be tailored to meet students study, however will include.
- working alongside the Leisure and Lifestyle Co-ordinator
- planning and co-ordination of activities
- interaction with residents and encouraging them to participate in planned activities
- Physiotherapy

Student Requirements

Students should display a willingness to learn and an interest in allied health or community services

Dress Requirements

Students should be well presented and in neat casual. Closed in non slip shoes must be worn

Seymour can be accessed via public transport
