Allied health assistant
This is a fantastic opportunity for a student looking to gain exposure to Allied Health in a hospital setting. Placements will be offered at one day per week. This employer has previously offered work placements and offers a supportive learning environment whilst giving you exposure to wide variety of tasks and services.
Skills You Might Learn
Students will extend their knowledge of the health industry, gain a greater understanding of the various roles and professions within a hospital, learn about Occupational Health and Safety protocols and apply their training in a practical setting. Other skills that will be attained include communication, time management, patient movement and documentation skills.
Typical Tasks & Duties
A structured schedule of tasks and duties will be created for each placement and may vary depending on your units of study. Some examples of tasks you may undertake include working alongside the allied health assistants, physiotherapists and occupational therapists. The position will involve both group work as well as one-on-one sessions.
Student Requirements
That the student has an interest in the field they wish to apply for.
Dress Requirements
Students will need to wear smart, casual clothing and have apropriate footwear. They cannot
have long nails.
Special Transport Requirements
Own transport to and from Seymour Health is required.
