Placements are available throughout the school year and are 5 days long, with potential to extend if both parties agree.

Skills You Might Learn

Students completing placement at Vivienna Lorikeet have the potential to gain the following skills: fabric cutting, hand sewing, fabric knowledge, communication skills, teamwork, problem-solving, planning, following guidelines, and organisation skills.

Typical Tasks & Duties

Students will be required to assist with duties based on their strengths and interests, which may include production or retail elements. Possible duties will include hand sewing (beading, lace application, etc.) calico design cutting, fabric organisation, organising physical fabric swatches/designs as well as the showroom and sewing room, stocktake, public relations research, and administration.

Student Requirements

An interest in fashion is very important. Students should also have a great attitude, neat presentation and a willingness to learn.
All students (or parents if under 18) are also required to sign a confidentiality agreement before commencing placement.

Dress Requirements

Neat presentation, smart casual dress, bring water (and food) if required.

Special Transport Requirements

Accessible via public transport.
