Jesuran Welfare Centre is a friendly environment run by dedicated group of Volunteers. They provide food relief for about 70 refugee/asylum seekers. Jesuran also provides English language and basic Computer classes as well as trauma counselling.
Skills You Might Learn
You will assist with the administration with a team that run education, recreation and social support programs. Assisting volunteers and staff in supporting women from various cultural backgrounds, helping them to learn practical skills of living in Australia.
Typical Tasks & Duties
You will assist with the administration with a team that run education and social support programs for people in need. There will be administrative tasks such as assisting with administration and filing, data entry and help with English classes. Other tasks will include assisting in sorting, picking and packing food (fresh fruits and vegetables, oil and other essentials), help with deliveries (no heavy lifting) and clean up and maintaining a safe working environment.
Must have a keen interest in business admin in a community setting, be friendly and supportive and willing and interested in learning a range of tasks relevant to a not for profit organisation.
Neat casual and culturally sensitive.

Special Transport Requirements
Easily accessible by public transport. You need to walk only five minutes from the train station to reach Jesuran Welfare Centre.
