TAFE Kids Inc provides child care for the general community and TAFE staff and students. We also have a Kindergarten with Degree qualified Kinder Teachers.
Age Groups.
Group 2: 18mths – 2.5yrs
Group 3: 2yrs – 3yrs
Group 4: 3yrs – 4yrs
Group 5: 4yrs -6yrs
Kinder: 4yrs -6yrs
Vacation Care: 4yrs – 12yrs
Kinder Funded program
Two session times are available: Tuesday and Thursday or Wednesday and Friday. All children enrolled in our kinder funded program will receive before and after Kinder care at no extra cost. The Kinder room is open 5 days a week to all Kinder enrolments.
This is an ideal placement for a student currently studying a VDSS subject in Early Childhood Education and Care, Community Services or Allied Health Assistance with a early childhood education and care interest to gain early education skills with a well reputed Child Care Centre in the Mildura area.

Typical Tasks & Duties
The student will observe and spend time under the direct supervision of experienced and qualified staff at TAFE KIDS INC assisting with general tasks and duties relating to safe play activities.
Tasks and duties may include assisting to prepare for daily activities, participating in activities as instructed, safely manual handle and use materials at the work area, clean and maintain the work area as instructed and apply OH&S requirements for the Children’s Services Industry – Child Care Assistant.
Student Requirements
Students with a positive attitude towards Children Services with a keen eye for detail and are self-motivated, willing to listen and follow instruction are encouraged to consider a future SWL placement to develop skills learned from their VDSS subject.
Prior to placement the student must attend and collect an induction from TAFE KIDS INC.
The student will require a Working With Children Check, volunteer as this placement is a SWL Placement, student educational placement.
Whilst the students is attending the work placement they are expected to:
• Dress appropriately.
• Maintain interest and participate in tasks and work duties.
• Be well mannered and behave in a respectful and responsible manner.
• Be punctual.
• Follow management instructions.
• Act in accordance with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) requirements.
• Work within the team.
• Listen and take advice from fellow workers.
• Take care and put the well being of child priority.
• Complying with administrative requirements including policies regarding communicating with parents and guardians.
• Respect other people’s belongings.
• Keep a note pad and pen handy to take notes for their own reference.
• Demonstrate the skills they have developed through their course.
• Take their Log Book to the work placement every day.
• Be willing to spend periods of time observing and to undertake necessary tasks as requested.
Dress Requirements
The student must be well presented and groomed.
• Flat, non-slip, enclosed work shoes.
• Neat dress with black pants,
• No inappropriate slogans or ripped clothing.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) appropriate to the tasks and duties carried out by the student, will be supplied by the Host Employer.
Special Transport Requirements
Public Transport is limited, students to check bus transport availability and or speak to parents/carer to organise transport prior to contacting employer.
