Typical Tasks & Duties
Depending on what area of dentistry you are interested in will determine the tasks and duties. For example as a dental assistant your number one priority to maintain strict infection control procedures. You may also be working with staff adhering to strict sterilisation controls, changing over rooms, process reusable medical devices and equipment and cleaning at the end of each shift. The role also includes assisting with practice administration and supporting quality and professionalism in the dental sector.
Student Requirements
To be successful in this role you must have a genuine interest in dentistry.
You must be cheerful with great interpersonal skills and show quick response when required.
You must also understand the importance of infection control and ways to mitigate risks.
