Sales assistant
A well known charity store (clothing exchange workshop for women) in Mooroolbark, run almost solely by volunteers, is offering SWL and Work Experience placements for students studying Cert II in Active Volunteering, Retail or Community Services. This is a chance to gain important experience in the retail industry whilst also being exposed to the community services sector. Proof of vaccination will be required. Skills You Might Learn
Students may have the opportunity to gain experience in customer service, point of sale, teamwork, merchandising and community work.
Typical Tasks & Duties
Students taking up this opportunity will gain experience in setting up displays, helping to organise and sort products such as books, clothing, jewellery, make up kits and cash register operation. Students will also be given the opportunity to help with managing stock in reserve and potentially be part of organising community events.
Student Requirements
Punctuality is important. Students must be fully vaccinated.
Dress Requirements
Students are required to be neatly dressed. Employer will discuss at the pre-placement meeting.
