Michelle and Pieter are keen to provide opportunities in the Agriculture and more specifically, Viticulture areas to give knowledge and awareness of the Career Pathways available in our region.

This opportunity has potential for work over the busy summer months for a proactive student if interested.

Skills You Might Learn

You will gain an introduction to the viticulture and horticulture and its role in agricultural production systems.
You will gain skills of working independently in a small family run business gaining employability skills that can follow you anywhere.

Typical Tasks & Duties

No day will look the same at Suffoir, as the variety of work is seasonal, however the scope of tasks will include (seasonal consideration):
• Pruning
• Weeding
• Cleaning and maintenance of trunks
• Wine making and development of product if capabilities are demonstrated
• General Agriculture and Horticulture tasks which will be seasonal requirements

Student Requirements

You must have a genuine interest in Agriculture and specially horticulture/viticulture. You will need to be adaptable given daily tasks will vary according to weather, season and demand.
You must be able to self-motivate and work independently on tasks instructed therefore require good listening skills.
You need to be physically fit and able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Dress Requirements

Work wear including work boots. Dress suitable to weather conditions.
PPE will be provided.

Special Transport Requirements

Must be able to organise own transport to and from MacArthur. Travel Arrangement form to be signed prior to commencement of placement as travel on the property may be required
