Ahrens Silos is seeking expression of interest from students seeking structured work placement. * SBAT & full time opportunities will be considered for the right applicant. The SBAT will be based on welding and fabrication and would be suitable for current VET Engineering students, or any young person who is open and eager to learn the ropes.

Typical Tasks & Duties

Student will have the opportunity to
- Complete some basic welding projects (subject to OH&S)
- Use a range of tools and materials in the workshop
- Assist other staff in metal fabrication
- General cleaning
- Organisation of equipment and tools
- Observe and participate under supervision

Student Requirements

Students need to be willing and eager to learn the engineering and fabrication industry, have a positive attitude and a respect for safety in the workplace. OH&S modules need to be completed.

Dress Requirements

Safety gear and appropriate wear to be discussed direct with employer

Special Transport Requirements

Students will require their own mode of transport, however there may be an opportunity to ride share with other workers subject to COVID-19 restriction and appropriate parental permissions.
