Skills You Might Learn

The student will experience a wide range of hands on and learning opportunities in engineering production, product design and unique engineering solutions. This may include being involved in basic mechanical, hydraulic, and steel fabrication.
Use basic numeracy skills for undertaking comparison measurements.
Be capable of applying skills and knowledge to specified situations and contexts.
Identify actual and foreseeable workplace hazards/problems during course of work
Planning and organizing. Self-management and adhere to all safety requirements.

Student Requirements

Student must be highly motivated, open to learning what is sometimes quite technical work and be prepared to use initiative within their skills, knowledge and capabilities. Where possible the candidate will need to demonstrate qualities of reliability, strong work ethic, leadership, team work and an understanding of the demands of a busy work environment.

Dress Requirements

Must wear steel capped boots, long work pants and long sleeved work shirt.

Special Transport Requirements

must be able to attend George Street site
