Moose Engineering is a family owned and operated Engineering business that has been servicing Hamilton and surrounds in excess of 15 years. An opportunity exists for a motivated young person to learn engineering skills and you will be exposed to a variety of engineering projects, as well as equipment.

Skills You Might Learn

Upon completion of a placement here you have the potential to gain the following skills: Welding, grinding, shaping metal, drilling, metal filing, use of various hand and power tools and working as part of a team. They will learn to apply principals of OHS in an engineering environment, learn how to plan and undertake routine tasks, apply quality systems and procedures and work with others in a manufacturing and engineering environment.

Typical Tasks & Duties

You will be observing and possibily given opportunity to assist tradespeople with all aspects of the operation including reading engineering drawings, collecting materials for jobs, cleaning work spaces, basic welding, grinding, fabrication, manual production assembly all under supervision.

Student Requirements

Applicant must be punctual and attentive to customer requests. Initiative will be required as position exposes itself to various locations and situations.

Dress Requirements

Fully covered workwear; steelcap workboots.
Overalls and all PPE will be provided.

Special Transport Requirements

Travel Arrangement Forms will be required.
