An SWL opportunity exists for student interested in graphic design and industrial design at Q Signs.

Q Signs is an independent family operated business with collectively over 50 years experience in the industry. They are renowned for their ability to provide unique creative solutions to all clients’ signage/visual merchandising and event requirements.

Skills You Might Learn

The student will learn the process of sign making from design creation, through to application and installation of vinyl and framework to a variety of end products. Students will learn to work in a mutually beneficial workplace and will learn valuable skills required to work in varied work environments.

Typical Tasks & Duties

The students will be expected to accompany the company's installer when offsite, help in the factory floor with a variety of tasks including vinyl and digital printing preparation and application, CNC router cutting and timber/aluminium frame construction and general workshop maintenance. All students would be expected to fill multiple roles on given days. This may mean being offsite one day and in the factory the next day, depending on what needs to be done. Students may be offered permanent part-time work if they are eager to stay on and are a suitable fit to the business.

Student Requirements

The student would be passionate about customer service who is interested to develop their skills in a dynamic environment. The student is also expected to:

- be diligent, polite, enthusiastic and well organised
- have good phone manners
- critical thinking
- good coordinating skills
- technical abilities, such as computer skills
- good time management skills
- able to follow instructions
- pay attention to detail to identify and fix problems
- possess problem-solving skills
- have good communication skills
- ask questions when needed to ensure understanding
- maintain safe practice at all times.

Dress Requirements

Neat casual, closed toes shoes.(doesn’t need to be steel capped)
