A child care SWL placement is available for a female student in the childcare centre within Fernwood Gym. The gym has child minding services for children aged 6 weeks to 12 years old.

Skills You Might Learn

Students will have the opportunity to work with experienced childhood educators who have a wealth of experience in providing quality care to children. We run out childminding sessions Monday to Friday in two sessions; 9am-10:30 and then 10:45-12:15. There are a broad range of tasks and duties that students will undertake that will contribute to developing skills and knowledge in early childhood education and care

Typical Tasks & Duties

. During placement, students may undertake the following:
-Assist with activities and programs.
- Read to children and assist in maintaining a clean environment
-Work with children to create a painting, story or creative item.
-Follow policies and procedures for allergy management
-Follow polices in regards to sun safety for children
Be aware of how to deal with problem behaviors and maintain a hygienic workplace.

Student Requirements

- A passion for child care
- Reliable and a good attitude
- Police check
- good communication skills.
-WWC Check

Dress Requirements

Smart casual. Please discuss at interview
