Community Living and Respite Services

Community Living and Respite Services is a major provider of flexible disability services in Echuca, Moama and surrounding districts. Our core values are respect, wellbeing, flexibility, and accountability. Our services are developed in partnership with people with a disability, including their family and carers. Our dedicated staff provide enriching opportunities and assistance to progress personal goals and develop skills, increasing independence at home and in the community. We also recognise the valued roles of carers in our community and the importance of support to assist with maintaining family wellbeing. We are a not for profit organisation. We have 190 staff with experience in a variety of areas - disability, nursing, teaching and aged care. The assistance provided by volunteers enrich the programs we offer. We take pride in matching staff skills and interests to the needs of service users. We are a "Child-Safe" organisation and have thorough pre-employment processes to ensure that the staff we recruit share our core values. Our vision is community enriched by the inclusion of all its members. We strive to be innovative and responsive and promote the fulfillment of individual potential.
The Murray River Tea Rooms is a Social Enterprise of Community Living & Respite Services. The Tea Rooms has a small cafe and op shop. The products for the cafe are generously donated by local businesses. The stock for the Op Shop is collected by the Recyclability Social enterprise.

Typical Tasks & Duties

Community Living & Respite Services Inc. supports children and adults with disability and their families and carers. A variety of supports and services may be available, based on the needs of each person.

Home Care – is about assisting people to complete house hold tasks such as shopping, cleaning, laundry and meal preparation.

"Number 4", 4 Percy Street Echuca is our base for a range of community activities. These include our Pamphlet Program, Out and About Programs, Community Kithchen, HEAL exercise program, Creative Minds and Dance 4 Fun. Programs are developed around the interests of our clients

"Recyclability" is a community recycling program is an inclusive volunteer based social enterprise involving people of all abilities, encouraging reuse and recycling. Our volunteers undertake tasks such as weekly kerbside collections, letter box drops and sorting of items for our Op Shop and regular "Stuff" sales. Surplus items are then on sold to local businesses and commercial recyclers, impacting positively on our environment.

Student Requirements

• Suitable for VCE or VCAL student as only one day out of school a week. Applicants from year 10 and 11 welcome to apply.
