Skills You Might Learn

Students will have the opportunity to assist tradespeople who will be involved in various stages of machining and mechanical fitting, which will include reading plans and drawing. Students will also assist in cleaning the workshop, unloading products, and general duties as required.

Typical Tasks & Duties

Students will be spending time in the hydraulics department, machining department, fabrication department and engineering drafting department, each for one full day.
The final day will be the students will the choice in the department that they enjoyed most.
This will give the student a good overall view of industry requirements.

Student Requirements

Student to be studying VET Engineering and to have a strong interest in machining and fabrication.

Dress Requirements

Student to wear industry appropriate work wear and safety boots.

Special Transport Requirements

Public transport is available.
