The Customer Service Officer is part of a team responsible for all initial points of contact with GWMWater customers. The members of the team have a vital role in creating an initial and lasting positive impression on customers. The role is performed face to face, via the phone and email. It requires a mature attitude and high level communication skills. Your role may include receptionist duties, processing payments and maintaining database information.

This placement will provide students with valuable 'hands-on experience' and the opportunity to learn from experienced industry professionals.
Students will have the opportunity to attain a broad range of skills while on SWL placement. These skills include valuable general employability skills in communication, teamwork, problem solving, planning and technology.
Students may also attain vital industry specific skills which will relate to their studies including:
- General Administration skills
- Experience in customer focused roles
- Time management skills
- Understanding of general office practices
- Working in real-life scenarios and environments
- Working with tools and equipment necessary to the occupation and business
- Liaising and working with colleagues, supervisors, customers/clients and suppliers
- Occupational health and safety practices.
Typical Tasks & Duties
Respond to customer enquires face to face, over the phone or via written correspondence.
Assist staff with reception duties including data entry, customer payments, banking duties, data base management.
Create a positive experience for customers
Receptionist duties as required.
Undertake other duties and functions as directed
Student Requirements
The position will suit those who have a genuine interest in customer service and office procedures. This placement will provide students with valuable 'hands-on experience' and the opportunity to learn from experienced industry professionals.

Special Transport Requirements
