Goodstart Early Learning Kangaroo Flat is a team of passionate, caring, and talented Educators who pride ourselves on implementing engaging and holistic programs that meet the needs and interests of all children in care.
The Centre has four learning environments which have been named after Australian plants our local Djar Djar Wurrung language; Murna, Wurrak, Duwin, and Mutjang. Early Learning for children aged six weeks to six years including 3- and 4-year-old funded Kindergarten Programs is provided.
All educators are experienced with a mix of Bachelor qualified teachers, Diploma of Children’s Services and Certificate III in Children’s Services qualified, to care for and educate up to 75 children per day.
Opportunities are available for the right person to continue with a traineeship. With the support of our expert Centre Leadership Teams, Teachers and Educators, Trainees are empowered to forge their careers and build specialist knowledge in the areas that interest them.
This STRUCTURED WORK PLACEMENT is available for a one week block from Monday 19th - Friday 23rd of SEPTEMBER 2022 - SCHOOL HOLIDAY PLACEMENT

Skills You Might Learn
How to work within a team
How to engage positively with children
Understand daily care routines of children
Work in accordance with food safety regulations
Adherence to policies, procedures, and regulations
Typical Tasks & Duties
Engaging with children’s play
Assisting Teachers and Educators with planned activities and experiences, setting education learning spaces in both the indoor and outdoor environment
Teaching children developmentally appropriate activities
Serving meals including morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea
Undertaking observations of children as required
Working as part of a team to complete daily goals
Communication with families as needed
Completing all related cleaning and restocking tasks as assigned by the Teacher and Educators
Students are required to have a keen interest in Early Years Education and Care and/or Community Services.
Students must be able to spend extended periods on their feet and interact with children at a child's level.
Students must have a willingness to learn and be able to follow instructions.
Students must display great initiative to complete tasks and follow Program Plans.
Act in accordance with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) requirements and have started or completed OHS modules as part of their course or school subject.
Work as a productive team member and have skills in effective communication.
Be punctual and notify the workplace supervisor and careers teacher of any planned or unplanned absence from placement.
Listen and take advice from fellow workers.
Black pants and top, closed toe shoes (no dangly jewellery)
Please no branded clothes with slogans.
