3One6 Kitchen- Community Lunch provides a delicious and low cost lunch for
anyone in the community who would like to come along on a Tuesday at 12 noon during school term. This is a great opportunity for a VET Hospitality student to undertake an SWL placement 1 day per week working in the bustling kitchen of 3One6.

Skills You Might Learn
This placement will provide students with valuable 'hands-on experience' and the opportunity to learn from experienced industry professionals.
Students will have the opportunity to build on their: communication skills, customer service skills, OH&S knowledge, team work, a variety of front and back of house skills along with food hygiene and cafe operations knowledge while working in a busy environment.
Students will also attain vital industry specific skills which will relate to their studies including:
• Working in real-life scenarios and environments
• Working with tools and equipment used in the hospitality sector and in a modern cafe business
• Liaising and working with colleagues, supervisors, customers/clients and suppliers
• Occupational health and safety practices.
Typical Tasks & Duties
Working in the kitchen, you will undertake a range of duties including: planning menus, ordering Stock, food preparation, prepare and cook food, food service, cleaning, food handling and hygiene, serving meals. Since this position is with a charity, no payment will be provided to the student.
Student Requirements
The position will suit students who are studying a VET ( Kitchen Operations ) or an interest in hospitality, food preparations, barista and food safety.
Students will:

• Have a neat appearance and wear clothes appropriate to the workplace.
• Be willing to learn
• Be punctual (on time) for work
• Have a good work ethic

Special Transport Requirements
No specific transport arrangements available. Students must organise their own transport, to and from the workplace.
