Established in 1957 Emmett's are a leading multi-franchise agricultural equipment group and one of Australia's largest John Deere dealers.
Emmett's are a leading supplier of new and used agricultural machinery together with operating an extensive Service and Parts Division located at the Dimboola Road showroom.
In this work placement role as an assistant spare parts interpreter you will work alongside the qualified team who provide professional and efficient parts delivery to outside customers and to Emmett's service departments. Your work will involve identifying and sourcing parts using manual and electronic catalogues, placing orders, receiving and unpacking goods, storage, contacting clients, billing and arranging freight for parts.

This placement will provide students with valuable 'hands-on experience' and the opportunity to learn from experienced industry professionals.
Students will have the opportunity to attain a broad range of skills while on SWL placement. These skills include valuable general employability skills in communication, teamwork, problem solving, planning and technology.
Students may also attain vital industry specific skills which will relate to their studies including:
• Working in real-life scenarios and environments
• Working with tools and equipment necessary to the occupation and business
• Liaising and working with colleagues, supervisors, customers/clients and suppliers
• Occupational health and safety practices.
Typical Tasks & Duties
Assist with: Meet and greet customers, answer parts enquiries, search manual and electronic data base catalogues, order parts, assist with daily freight, store parts, ship orders, keep work area clean.

Dress Requirements
Closed toe, nonslip shoes.
Steel capped safety boots if required.
Workwear appropriate for the workplace.
Neat casual attire
Minimal jewellery and long hair tied back for safety purposes.
Special Transport Requirements
No specific transport arrangements available. Students must organise their own transport, to and from the workplace.
