Rochester Community House is a community resource that strives to provide a place where people in the area find new friendships, new interests and links in the area. Rochester Community House is governed by a committee of management consisting of up to 11 members of the local community and provides a warm and supportive workplace.
Skills You Might Learn
Students will gain practical entry-level skills and knowledge in an office environment, while developing core values in quality workmanship, workplace safety and self-confidence.
Typical Tasks & Duties
SWL students will provide administrative support and assist with marketing for fundraising activities. Lots of different tasks for promoting the Community House's programs on IT and Social Media and other office duties as directed.
Student Requirements
Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions and have entry level computer skills. Must enjoy using Social Media to promote programs, develop news feeds and promote Community Programs. Must be able to work with a diverse group of volunteers and paid staff in a community program environment.
Dress Requirements
Well groomed and neat, office attire.
Special Transport Requirements
Student to make own transportation arrangements.
