BE PART OF GROWING A COMMUNITY GARDEN
This community garden was founded to provide fresh fruit and vegetables to support community services. The garden is also a great place to volunteer and provides continuing pleasure to individuals with activities ranging from general gardening, nursery work, maintenance, compost making and new ideas are always encouraged.
The Community Garden has been a huge part of the Grow Cook Share Project. This productive garden has a mixture of private and communal plots, feeding the Karen community, providing food for local restaurants and businesses and is a training ground for Work for the Dole projects among many others.
Skills You Might Learn
Communicate with others in the workplace, deliver a service to customers, work effectively in a business environment ,process and maintain workplace information,
handle mail, contribute to workplace innovation, produce simple word processed documents, create and use spreadsheets, communicate electronically, identify suitability for micro business, participate in environmentally sustainable work practices, contribute to health and safety of self and others, organise and complete daily work activities and work effectively with others.
Typical Tasks & Duties
Working with existing staff in Community Gardens activities and organising and supporting volunteers and other workers.

Your time with us will be spent assisting our staff within the suite of programs we deliver. This will include Welfare assistance programs, Children's programs and volunteer programs.
Students would need to have a reasonable level of understanding of plant propagation.
Student Requirements
Students need to be mature, professional and enthusiastic participants in our client focussed teams. They (like our own staff) need to maintain the highest standards of privacy, confidentiality and personal presentation.
Dress Requirements
Neat clean casual clothes, no torn or dirty clothes, covered in shoes or boots, no thongs or sports footwear.
