This organisation is a sports-based social and mentoring platform aiming to engage young people through fitness and recreation. If you are interested in food and like being part of a team, this placement could be ideal for you. As a kitchen operations assistant, you would be involved in basic food preparation, food storage, stock management and keeping the kitchen clean and tidy. It is important that you are aware of strict hygiene, health and safety rules and requirements.
Skills You Might Learn
Students mayhave the opportunity to attain a broad range of skills while on work placement including general employability skills such as: communication, teamwork, problem solving, planning, organising and self-management.
Typical Tasks & Duties
During your placement, you may undertake the following:
Assist with menu preparation and stock ordering
Clean equipment
Ensure work areas are kept clean and tidy
Learn more about food handling and hygiene, following instructions, working in team and working quickly, competently and safely.
Student Requirements
Students must come ready to learn and be reliable throughout their attendance. Students will ideally have a genuine interest in hospitality.
Dress Requirements
A white shirt, black pants and closed in shoes are typical to the industry and should be worn. Students must be well presented, with long hair to be tied back and facial hair kept neat and tidy.
Special Transport Requirements
Student to make own travel arrangements.
