Working with a range of health professionals in this dynamic health service you will have the opportunity to learn about several health careers in the areas of allied health, social connection for older adults and health promotion and community development.
This placement will open your eyes to many different areas in the healthcare services industry and give you the chance to observe all sorts of qualified professionals working with clients with diverse needs.
The placement allows the students to observe and participate across a broad range of healthcare services. Tasks and duties will contribute to developing your skills and knowledge in healthcare services and, where relevant, will contribute to you developing your competencies for your qualification.

Typical Tasks & Duties
Students will work with, and under the supervision, of qualified healthcare professionals. There will be a broad range of tasks and duties you will be required to undertake which will contribute to developing your skills and knowledge in Allied Health, Social Support Services and Health Promotion.
You may undertake the following:
• Check where OHS signs are placed and what areas they cover.
Look at the current OHS policy, do a tour of buildings and note any issues regarding OHS that you will need to observe while on work placement.
• Assist Allied Health Assistants in their roles and duties, across disciplines such as physiotherapy, occupational therapy, podiatry, dietetics, and speech pathology.
• Assist Social Support Workers in their roles and duties working with older adults offering them social connection opportunities.
Student Requirements
Students will need to have evidence for receiving at least three COVID vaccinations.
Dress Requirements
A neat and tidy appearance.
Wear masks when working with clients
