SLTEC have an exciting opportunity for a student to undertake a Traineeship in Freight Handling/Logistics. Being part of the Traineeship program includes on the job training, mentoring, industry skills and an opportunity to learn about all areas of logistics. Logistics personnel are responsible for monitoring stock levels and oversseeing the movement of incoming and outgoing goods. This exciting opportunity will head towards a Certificate III in Logistics with the possibility of a full time job upon completion.
SLTEC's manufacturing plant is a world standard, high-volume operation supplying product to a wide range of customers.

Typical Tasks & Duties
The student will undertake the following tasks and duties:
Updating inventory lists
Receiving and dispatching goods and verifying movements of stock
Checking purchase orders against stock levels
Preparing delivery schedules
Coordinating maintenance and repairs of storage facility
Entering data into a database
Maintaining optimal stock levels at minimum cost
Ensuring OH&S protocols are followed in the storage facility
Calculating storage and clearance costs
Managing incoming and outgoing invoices
Student Requirements
The student most be good with numeracy and literacy and able to follow instructions and to work safely. They will be willing to seek assistance from their Manager as required. The student should be able to work in a team and have good communication skills.
Dress Requirements
Clean, neat and tidy appearance with closed toe leathr shoes (steel capped required when working in a warehouse).
Special Transport Requirements
Student to make own transportation arrangements
