We have an opportunity for a student to undertake Work Experience and observe highly skilled staff who manufacture, repair, and refurbish mining and industrial equipment, gearing for heavy and light industries, precision engineering products and a raft of innovative engineering solutions.

Skills You Might Learn

Workplace Communication, teamwork, problem solving, understanding of manufacture drawings, use of engineering technology, planning and organizing, time management, interpersonal skills, working with steel, assisting trades people with lifting and shifting steel and related products, measuring and calculating, machine operation, fitting, milling & grinding.

Typical Tasks & Duties

Students will have the opportunity to assist tradespeople who will be involved in various stages of Fabtrication which will include reading plans and drawings. Students will also assist general workshop duties as required.

Student Requirements

Student should have passion and drive, a keen interest in heavy engineering & Fitting.
Personal mobile phones are not required and should only be used out of work hours or on meal breaks.

Dress Requirements

Neat, close fitting work pants and shirt or overalls. Steel capped safety boots. No torn or loose clothing. Long hair to be tied back for safety reasons.

Special Transport Requirements

Public transport is available.
