Typical Tasks & Duties
Students will assist trained staff in performing duties with high level supervision. Students may assist or observe trained staff with the following activities:
Traditional carpentry and framing, preparing a building site
Assisting trained staff with construction activities such as cleaning and maintenance of tools and equipment and clearing work sites
Completing all job related preparation tasks as assigned by trained staff
Student Requirements
Students are encouraged to consider a Work Experience placement to develop skills learned from their Work-Related Skills subject. This is a "physical role', so a level of coordination and dexterity is vital. Best suited to students with a genuine interest in the Building & Construction industry.
Dress Requirements
Work boots, long pants and long sleeved tops of sturdy material, suitable for a construction site. High Vis gear and other PPE will be provided by employer if required. It is recommended the student bring sunscreen and a hat.
Special Transport Requirements
Student to make own transport arrangements. Local bus services nearby.
